The Cathedral of Valencia's Long Hidden Inspiration:
Details of an Angel playing oud, or laud, with an eagle feather on a forgotten fresco discovered in the ceiling of the Cathedral which had been covered up for over 550 years!
In 2006, Dimitris Rapakousios was chosen by the city of Valencia, along with 10 other European luthiers, to bring to life the 11 instruments seen in the newly discovered fresco (contemporary instruments of the period) including Oud, Vihuela, Zither, Viola de Gamba, Santur, and others being played by Angels.
